Tanaka Debuts in India with Advanced Semiconductor Materials

Post by : Armust Desk

Tanaka Precious Metal Technologies Co., Ltd. and Tanaka Electronics Co., Ltd. marked their first-ever appearance at SEMICON India 2025, held from September 2 to 4 in New Delhi. SEMICON India is one of the largest international exhibitions focused on the semiconductor industry. The event provided an excellent platform for Tanaka to introduce its cutting-edge materials, technologies, and sustainable solutions to support the rapidly growing semiconductor sector in India.

The company’s participation reflects its long-term commitment to helping India develop advanced semiconductor manufacturing and supporting the country’s technological growth.

Tanaka’s Strategic Growth in India

Tanaka first entered the Indian market in 2019 by establishing a local subsidiary in Mumbai. This office serves as a central hub for India, the Middle East, and Africa, focusing on sales, marketing, and market research. Over the past few years, India has emerged as a key destination for semiconductor manufacturing, with increasing investments in technology, research, and development.

Tanaka aims to leverage its decades of experience in precious metals and semiconductor materials to support India’s ambitions in building a self-reliant and innovative semiconductor ecosystem.

Showcasing Advanced Semiconductor Materials

At SEMICON India 2025, Tanaka presented a wide range of products designed to meet the needs of semiconductor manufacturers:

  • Bonding Wires: Tanaka offers bonding wires made of gold, copper, and aluminum. These wires are used to connect semiconductor chips to external circuits. They are known for their smooth surfaces, precise dimensions, and reliability, ensuring high-quality electrical connections.

  • Silver Sintering Paste: Tanaka’s conductive die bond paste works with silicon for power devices and next-generation semiconductors like silicon carbide and gallium nitride. It provides excellent thermal conductivity, mechanical strength, and long-term reliability for high-performance semiconductor applications.

  • Probe Pins: High-conductivity and wear-resistant probe pins are essential for testing micro-pitch devices. Tanaka supplies customized probe pins that meet specific electrical and mechanical requirements for precise semiconductor testing.

  • Sputtering Targets: These targets are used in dry film formation processes critical for semiconductor devices. Tanaka’s sputtering targets ensure uniform and high-purity thin films, supporting reliable device performance.

  • Precious Metal Recycling: Tanaka provides comprehensive recycling solutions for precious metals used in semiconductor manufacturing. Their one-stop services cover collection, processing, refining, and remanufacturing, helping semiconductor manufacturers reduce waste and promote sustainability.

Commitment to Sustainability

Tanaka has a strong focus on sustainability and the circular economy. Its recycling technologies recover valuable and rare materials from used semiconductors and electronic components. By offering a complete recycling system, Tanaka reduces environmental impact, conserves resources, and strengthens supply chain reliability. This commitment aligns with global sustainability goals and supports India’s efforts to develop a green and resource-efficient semiconductor industry.

Supporting India’s Semiconductor Growth

With India’s semiconductor industry expanding rapidly, Tanaka plans to continue providing front-end manufacturing support. Its products, including sputtering targets and advanced materials, are designed to meet the demands of next-generation semiconductors. By sharing its global expertise and technology, Tanaka helps Indian manufacturers enhance efficiency, reduce production risks, and achieve higher reliability in semiconductor devices.

Tanaka’s participation at SEMICON India 2025 highlights the company’s dedication to long-term partnerships with India’s semiconductor sector. It also demonstrates the importance of sustainable technologies and advanced materials in supporting India’s goal of becoming a global semiconductor hub.

As India strengthens its semiconductor ecosystem, Tanaka is committed to expanding its support with innovative materials and solutions. From bonding wires to recycling services, the company aims to provide a complete range of technologies that improve performance, reliability, and sustainability in semiconductor manufacturing.
