In a global logistics environment increasingly defined by congestion and capacity constraints, deugro has successfully executed a complex shipment of 92 vehicles from China to Chile, demonstrating how strategic planning can overcome even the toughest market conditions. The operation, carried out during a peak shipping season marked by limited vessel availability, reflects the growing pressure on global supply chains where demand continues to outpace capacity. Rather than delaying delivery timelines, deugro leveraged early-stage planning and operational foresight to secure critical roll-on/roll-off (RO/RO) vessel space, ensuring uninterrupted cargo movement across continents.

The shipment involved a mix of 84 buses and eight forklifts units that are not only large in size but also demand careful handling due to their sensitivity and operational value. With dimensions reaching up to over 12 meters in length and weights exceeding 20 metric tonnes per unit, the cargo required meticulous coordination at every stage of the journey. The total shipment volume exceeded 8,000 cubic meters, with a combined weight nearing 1,064 metric tonnes, making it a large-scale project in both logistical and engineering terms. From origin collection at Taicang Port in China to final delivery at San Antonio Port in Chile, each phase required synchronized execution to avoid delays and disruptions.

What makes this operation particularly significant is the context in which it was executed. Peak shipping seasons are often characterized by vessel shortages, rising freight costs, and operational bottlenecks across ports. In such an environment, securing guaranteed RO/RO capacity becomes a competitive advantage rather than a routine process. deugro’s chartering strategy, supported by its global network and carrier relationships, played a crucial role in mitigating these challenges. By locking in vessel space early and maintaining flexibility in execution, the company was able to protect delivery schedules and minimize risks that typically disrupt automotive logistics during high-demand periods.

Beyond transportation, the operation highlighted the importance of end-to-end coordination in modern logistics. Multiple stakeholders including shippers, carrier agents, and trucking partners were aligned to ensure smooth execution. Regulatory compliance added another layer of complexity, particularly with cleanliness and disinfection requirements that needed to be addressed before shipment. These processes were managed proactively at the port of origin, ensuring that no regulatory hurdles delayed the cargo movement. Additionally, surveyors were deployed during both loading and discharge operations, while on-board experts supervised the process to safeguard the vehicles from damage, ensuring a zero-defect delivery outcome.

The successful delivery of this shipment underscores a broader shift in global logistics, where adaptability and planning discipline are becoming critical differentiators. With ongoing disruptions, equipment shortages, and shifting trade routes, logistics providers are being pushed to rethink traditional approaches and adopt more resilient strategies. Projects like this highlight how integrated logistics solutions combining engineering expertise, digital coordination, and proactive risk management are essential to maintaining supply chain continuity in today’s volatile environment.

As global trade continues to expand and demand for specialized transport grows, operations like deugro’s China-to-Chile shipment set a new benchmark for reliability and execution excellence. It is no longer enough to move cargo from point A to point B today’s logistics leaders must anticipate disruptions, engineer solutions, and deliver with precision under pressure. This project serves as a clear example of how advanced logistics strategies can not only overcome constraints but also create value by ensuring speed, safety, and consistency. In a world where supply chains are the backbone of global industry, such execution capabilities are fast becoming the defining edge.
