According to a source familiar with the plan, both meetings will happen on the same day but will deal with different issues and use different negotiation formats. The timing shows how global powers are trying to use dialogue at a moment when international tensions remain high.

The first meeting will focus on Iran and is expected to take place in the morning. A United States delegation will meet Iranian representatives, with officials from Oman present as mediators. Oman has often played a helpful middle role in past negotiations in the region and is considered acceptable to both sides. The purpose of this meeting is to reopen discussion channels and reduce friction at a time when relations are strained by sanctions, security concerns, and disputes over internal political actions inside Iran.

The Iran talks come after a period of rising pressure. The United States has increased its military presence in nearby areas and has spoken strongly about Iran’s domestic crackdown on protesters. These back-to-back meetings show that major powers are still willing to try diplomacy even during tense periods. The real test will be whether these conversations continue beyond one day and turn into a steady process. For now, the importance lies in keeping talks alive and choosing discussion over confrontation.
