Stellantis Italy Vehicle Output Expected to Rebound in 2026

Stellantis Italy Vehicle Output Expected to Rebound in 2026

Post by : Saif

Stellantis is expected to produce around 450,000 vehicles at its Italian plants in 2026, according to the FIM Cisl union, marking an improvement after two consecutive years of declining output.

The estimate suggests that vehicle production in Italy could recover from the lower levels recorded in 2025. However, the projected figure remains below earlier expectations for the year.

Vehicle Output Rose After Two Years of Decline

Stellantis has faced a difficult period for production in Italy, with output falling for two consecutive years.

The expected increase in 2026 could signal a gradual improvement across the company's Italian manufacturing operations. The recovery is being closely watched by workers, unions and the Italian government because of the importance of the automotive industry to the country's economy.

Production Still Below Initial Expectations

Although the projected 450,000 vehicles would represent an improvement from 2025, FIM Cisl said the figure remains below initial expectations.

The gap between expected and actual production highlights the challenges facing Stellantis as the company manages changing demand, manufacturing costs and the transition toward newer vehicle technologies.

Italian Auto Industry Faces Major Changes

Italy's automotive sector is undergoing significant changes as manufacturers invest in electric vehicles, update production facilities and respond to shifting consumer demand.

Stellantis operates several major manufacturing facilities in Italy, making its production levels an important indicator for the country's wider automotive supply chain.

Higher output could support employment and activity among suppliers connected to Stellantis plants.

Stellantis Production Outlook for 2026

The expected increase to around 450,000 vehicles provides a more positive outlook for Stellantis' Italian operations after two years of declining production.

However, the final production figure will depend on market demand, plant operations and the company's production plans during the remaining months of 2026.
