Ford Recalls More Than 565,000 US Vehicles Over Engine Fire Risk

Ford Motor Company is recalling 565,691 vehicles across the United States after a potential defect in the engine compartment wiring harness was found to increase the risk of a vehicle fire.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the wiring harness in affected vehicles may become damaged over time, causing a short circuit that could generate excessive heat or sparks inside the engine compartment.

Bronco and Bronco Raptor Models Affected

The recall covers certain 2021–2026 Ford Bronco and 2021–2026 Ford Bronco Raptor vehicles sold in the United States.

Federal safety regulators warned that a damaged wiring harness could create conditions that raise the likelihood of an engine compartment fire, even if no crash has occurred.

Vehicle owners are advised to check whether their vehicle is included in the recall once official notifications are issued.

Free Repairs for Vehicle Owners

Ford said authorized dealerships will carry out the necessary repairs at no cost to customers.

As part of the recall, technicians will install protective sheathing over the engine compartment wiring harness to prevent damage and reduce the risk of a short circuit.
