SQuAD Forging India Marks 25,000 Aircraft Wheels Milestone

Post by : Meena Rani

SQuAD Forging India Private Ltd, a joint venture between Aequs Ltd and SQuAD, has successfully manufactured its 25,000th aircraft wheel at its Indian plant, reinforcing the company’s position as a key player in the global aerospace supply chain. The milestone highlights the venture’s ability to deliver high-quality aerospace components while ensuring full in-country value addition.

Leadership Perspectives

Aravind Melligeri, Executive Chairman & CEO of Aequs Ltd, commented on the achievement:

“Accomplishing this major milestone in time underscores the customer focus at SQuAD, with all projects completed to customer requirements. What is more satisfying is that Aequs has been able to leverage the end-to-end aerospace cluster to achieve 100 per cent in-country value addition on several products, including the wheels it makes, reflecting the unique value proposition of the Aerospace ecosystem at Belagavi.”

Echoing the sentiment, Etienne GALAN, Chief Executive Officer of Aubert & Duval SAS, said:

“By passing the 25,000-wheel milestone, SQuAD has reached an important position that demonstrates Aubert & Duval’s unique metallurgical expertise and the relevance of the partnership between A&D and Aequs in serving our customers. This partnership enables Aubert & Duval to continue its development in India, a particularly promising and strategic market for the aerospace industry.”

Milestone Achieved

The milestone was reached just two years after SQuAD Forging India commenced operations, emphasizing rapid growth and strong operational efficiency. The company manufactures small and medium-sized aero-structural parts for the aerospace sector, including engines, wheels, landing gear, turbines, structural components, braking systems, and spatial parts.

SQuAD Forging India operates dedicated forging and heat treatment lines, ensuring a highly sustainable manufacturing ecosystem. The company’s end-to-end manufacturing value stream — from forging and machining to surface treatment and aero assemblies — guarantees that no component travels more than 500 meters within the facility, effectively reducing the carbon footprint of its products.

All wheels and aerospace components are entirely manufactured in India, reinforcing the country’s capabilities in high-value aerospace manufacturing. SQuAD Forging wheels are now used on aircraft worldwide, reflecting the global reach and reliability of its production systems.

Global Aerospace Supply Chain Integration

The joint venture between Aequs and SQuAD combines advanced metallurgical expertise, precision engineering, and end-to-end manufacturing capabilities, positioning it as a strategic supplier to international aerospace manufacturers. The collaboration leverages the strengths of the Belagavi aerospace cluster, one of India’s most important hubs for high-tech aerospace production, and emphasizes local value creation in line with the Indian government’s aerospace development initiatives.

This milestone not only demonstrates the scalability and quality of Indian aerospace manufacturing but also reinforces the importance of partnerships between domestic companies and global technology leaders. The facility’s capabilities span forging, machining, surface treatment, and aero assemblies, ensuring that SQuAD Forging India meets the stringent quality and certification requirements demanded by the global aviation industry.

Sustainability and Innovation Focus

SQuAD Forging India also emphasizes sustainability and operational efficiency. By keeping all manufacturing processes within a tightly controlled facility, the company reduces transport-related emissions and energy usage. This eco-conscious approach, combined with advanced forging and heat treatment technologies, allows SQuAD Forging India to deliver high-performance, durable aerospace components to its clients worldwide.

With the successful production of 25,000 aircraft wheels, SQuAD Forging India continues to strengthen India’s footprint in the global aerospace sector. The milestone reflects not only production capability but also the strategic importance of in-country manufacturing, local value addition, and sustainable operational practices.

The achievement signals a bright future for India’s aerospace industry, with joint ventures like SQuAD Forging India acting as a bridge between domestic capabilities and global aerospace demand, ensuring that India becomes an increasingly critical player in the high-tech manufacturing landscape.
