Rail passengers travelling through Mathura and nearby routes will face changes from October 4 to 11 as railway authorities carry out major yard remodeling work between Mathura and Bhuteshwar stations.
North Central Railway has announced a special traffic block for the work. The project will affect train operations in the section, with 14 trains cancelled and seven trains diverted during the scheduled period.
The changes are linked to work aimed at improving the railway yard and separating different train lines around the Mathura-Bhuteshwar section.
The railway is carrying out yard remodeling between Mathura (MTJ) and Bhuteshwar (BTSR) stations.
The work involves arrangements to separate the up, down, third, fourth and Alwar lines. Such infrastructure work requires railway traffic to be restricted for specific periods so that construction and track-related activities can be completed safely.
Because of the special block, several scheduled services cannot operate on their normal routes.

Along with the cancellations, seven trains will be diverted during the work period.
The affected services will be operated through the Ghaziabad-Mitawali route instead of their regular path.
Passengers travelling between Delhi, Agra, Mathura and other connected destinations should check their train's latest running information before starting their journey, particularly if travelling between October 4 and October 11.
The railway work is particularly relevant for passengers using trains between Agra and Delhi, as several services on or around this corridor are expected to be affected by the diversion and cancellation arrangements.
Mathura is an important railway junction connecting Delhi with Agra and other destinations in northern India. Changes at the station can therefore affect trains operating across several connected routes.
Passengers should allow additional travel time if their service is diverted.
The special block has been planned from October 4 through October 11, 2026.
Railway authorities are carrying out the work as part of the wider remodeling of the Mathura-Bhuteshwar yard. Once completed, the separation of railway lines is expected to support smoother handling of train movements through the section.
Passengers should verify the status of their individual train before travelling because cancellation and diversion schedules can vary by train and date.
