VinFast Launches VF6 & VF7 Electric SUVs in India with Top Features

VinFast, the well-known Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, has officially entered the Indian market with the launch of its two latest electric SUVs, the VF6 and VF7. This move comes at a time when India is seeing a significant push towards electric mobility, as consumers are increasingly looking for eco-friendly, reliable, and affordable alternatives to traditional petrol and diesel vehicles.

• Sky AWD (70.8kWh): ₹24.99 lakh

• Sky Infinity AWD (70.8kWh): ₹25.49 lakh

All prices are ex-showroom and make the vehicles competitive in India’s growing electric vehicle segment.

Manufacturing and Bookings

Both VF6 and VF7 are locally assembled at VinFast’s state-of-the-art facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. This plant has been designed to ensure high quality and efficient production for the Indian market. The VF7 was the first model to come off the production line, signaling VinFast’s serious commitment to India.

Bookings for both models are now open across India. Interested buyers can book a car with a token amount of ₹21,000. Deliveries are expected to begin in the coming months, and VinFast aims to provide a seamless experience to its customers through its growing dealer and service network.

Design and Features

VF6: Compact SUV with Modern Style

The VF6 is designed for urban mobility, offering a compact and sleek appearance. Its exterior features full-width LED daytime running lights, wraparound LED tail lamps, flush-mounted door handles, and stylish 18-inch alloy wheels, giving it a modern and premium feel.

Inside, the VF6 offers a spacious and comfortable cabin with a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, head-up display, panoramic sunroof, and dual-zone climate control. This ensures that both the driver and passengers enjoy a luxurious ride.

The VF6 is equipped with advanced safety features, including seven airbags, Level 2 ADAS driver assistance, automatic parking assist, rain-sensing wipers, electronic parking brake, and a 360-degree camera. These features make it one of the safest compact SUVs in the electric segment.

The SUV is powered by a 59.6kWh lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) battery with a front-mounted motor producing 204 horsepower. It offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 480 kilometers on a single charge and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.89 seconds. The VF6 supports both AC charging at 3.3kW and 7.2kW, as well as DC fast charging for quick top-ups.

VF7: Mid-Size SUV with Power and Comfort

The VF7 offers more space and power than the VF6. It comes with two battery options: a 59.6kWh battery and a 70.8kWh battery. The 59.6kWh battery is paired with a front-wheel-drive motor producing 201 horsepower, while the 70.8kWh battery can be paired with either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive, producing up to 350 horsepower.

Exterior design elements include full-width LED daytime running lights, wraparound LED taillights, flush-mounted door handles, and larger 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the VF7 features the same 12.9-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and head-up display as the VF6, but with more room for passengers and cargo.

The VF7 also includes advanced safety features similar to the VF6: seven airbags, Level 2 ADAS, automatic parking assist, rain-sensing wipers, electronic parking brake, and a 360-degree camera. These safety systems make the VF7 an excellent option for families and long-distance travel.

The 70.8kWh battery variant offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 450 kilometers, while the 59.6kWh variant covers slightly less. Both versions support AC and DC fast charging.

Warranty and After-Sales Support

VinFast is offering a robust warranty and support system for both models to build consumer confidence.

• Free Charging: Available until July 2028

• Free Maintenance: 3 years
