Dubai Launches Dock & Dine to Boost Yachting Tourism

Post by : Bandan Preet

Dubai is once again taking a significant step to strengthen its position as a global hub for tourism and yachting. The Dubai Maritime Authority (DMA), under the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, together with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), has launched an innovative initiative called Dock & Dine. This program is designed to make visiting Dubai by yacht easier, more enjoyable, and more connected to the city’s famous waterfront dining experiences.

The initiative covers 20 of Dubai’s leading marinas and marine stations, making it the most complete program of its kind in the region. It directly supports Dubai’s Economic Agenda, D33, which focuses on making the city a top destination for both business and leisure.

What is Dock & Dine?

Dock & Dine is created for yacht owners, crews, and guests who want to dock their vessels for short stays and enjoy the finest dining experiences along Dubai’s waterfront. The program allows visitors to easily access a curated list of restaurants, luxury hotels, cultural attractions, and entertainment spots, all directly connected to the marinas.

One of the most exciting aspects of Dock & Dine is that guests can sail between different docks and restaurants, enjoying a variety of cuisines in beautiful locations, all within 45 minutes to one hour of each other. This makes it perfect for short trips where visitors can experience multiple dining options without spending too much time traveling.

Key Benefits for Yacht Visitors

The Dock & Dine initiative offers many benefits to visitors:

  • Free moorage at participating marinas and marine stations.

  • Fast booking system with reservation times ranging from five minutes to one hour.

  • Direct communication with restaurants for advanced table arrangements.

  • Dedicated dock tenders to help with smooth drop-off and pick-up.

By simplifying and standardizing the docking and dining process, the program ensures a smooth, hassle-free experience for both yacht owners and marina operators.

Statement from Dubai Maritime Authority

Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, CEO of the Dubai Maritime Authority, explained the importance of the initiative: “The Dock & Dine program represents the forward-thinking approach that defines Dubai’s maritime development. By harmonizing marina regulations and improving operational processes, we provide yacht guests with streamlined access and world-class service. Working with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, we aim to boost tourism, support the yachting sector, and contribute to Dubai’s dynamic economy.”

This statement highlights the city’s commitment to exceptional service, safety, and innovation.

Enhancing Tourism During Peak Seasons

Dock & Dine is especially valuable during Dubai’s peak winter season, which runs from October to April. During this period, Dubai enjoys calm waters, warm weather, and a lively calendar of events, attracting visitors from around the world. Yacht owners and guests can enjoy the city’s culinary and maritime experiences in comfort, with easy access to all the amenities offered at the marinas.

Dubai has more than 4,000 berths across its marinas and marine stations, making it capable of accommodating vessels of all sizes—from small pleasure boats to luxury superyachts.

Statement from Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism

His Excellency Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), which is part of DET, emphasized the importance of the initiative: “Dock & Dine marks an important milestone in Dubai’s maritime journey. By connecting world-class marinas with top dining experiences, we provide international yacht tourists with a rich, convenient, and enjoyable experience. This initiative reflects strong partnerships between government and industry and strengthens Dubai’s position as a global yachting destination.”

This reflects Dubai’s continuous collaboration between the public and private sectors to create a sustainable and vibrant yachting ecosystem.

Strong Public-Private Collaboration

This initiative reflects Dubai’s remarkable progress in building a complete maritime ecosystem, achieved through collaboration between government and private sectors. The city’s marinas are equipped with:

  • Advanced maintenance and repair facilities

  • Full marine services

  • Specialty shops

This ensures that both yacht owners and professionals in the maritime industry receive top-quality service and support.

Dubai’s Strategic Location

Dubai’s location between East and West, along with simplified entry procedures and tailored visa packages, makes it easy for foreign vessels to arrive and stay. Vessels can remain in Dubai waters for up to six months, providing flexibility and convenience for tourists and yacht owners alike.

The Dock & Dine initiative is a game-changer for Dubai’s tourism and yachting sectors. By offering seamless access to marinas and waterfront dining, the program enhances visitor experiences, supports the yachting industry, and strengthens the city’s global reputation. With initiatives like Dock & Dine, Dubai is not just a city to visit—it’s a city to enjoy, live, and explore, bringing together luxury, convenience, and culture in one extraordinary experience.
