Dubai Airshow 2025 Showcases Aviation & Defence Breakthroughs

Dubai, UAE — DXB News Network (On-Ground Report): The 2025 Dubai Airshow, held from 17–21 November at Dubai World Central, emerged as one of the most pivotal editions in the event’s history, drawing the global aerospace community to the region. Emirates Airline confirmed an order for 65 Boeing 777-9 aircraft, a transaction valued at approximately USD 38 billion, reaffirming the airline’s long-term commitment to the next-generation 777X program. Additionally, flydubai signed a provisional agreement to acquire 150 Airbus A321neo jets, signaling a transformative shift in the carrier’s future operational strategy.

Defence collaboration was another key highlight, with Italy’s Leonardo S.p.A. and Abu Dhabi’s EDGE Group announcing a joint venture focused on the development and manufacturing of advanced aerospace and defence solutions. This partnership will prioritize sensor systems, integrated platforms, and cutting-edge technologies, strengthening the UAE’s position as a hub for indigenous defence capabilities.

Throughout the airshow, DXB News Network observed over 200 aircraft on static and flying display, alongside more than 1,500 exhibitors representing sectors spanning commercial aviation, defence, space, sustainability, and advanced air mobility.
