Bihar to Get New Amrit Bharat Express Connecting Rajasthan

Post by : Meena Rani

Bihar is all set to welcome another Amrit Bharat Express, which will become the 11th train of this modern fleet to either originate from or pass through the state.

The addition of this train aims to further enhance rail connectivity across Bihar, just ahead of the assembly elections later this year. Currently, there are 11 Amrit Bharat Express trains operating on the Indian Railway network, with 10 of them connected to Bihar.

Affordable Premium Travel

These trains offer a travel experience similar to the Vande Bharat Express, but are designed to provide high-quality service at affordable fares, catering especially to passengers from lower and lower-middle income groups.

New Train Route

The upcoming Amrit Bharat Express will connect Darbhanga in Bihar to Madar Junction (Ajmer) in Rajasthan, initially operating on a weekly schedule to facilitate travel between the two regions.

Recently, on September 15, 2025, a new Amrit Bharat Express began its inaugural journey from Saharsa Junction to Cheharta (Amritsar), featuring 22 coaches, including Sleeper and General Class.

Existing Amrit Bharat Express Trains from Bihar:

  • Darbhanga–Anand Vihar (15557/15558)

  • Saharsa–Lokmanya Tilak (11015/11016)

  • Rajendranagar–New Delhi (22361/22362)

  • Bapudham Motihari–Anand Vihar (15567/15568)

  • Darbhanga–Gomtinagar (15561/15562)

  • Malda Town–Gomtinagar (13435/13436)

  • Sitamarhi–Delhi (14047/14048)

  • Gaya–Delhi (13697/13698)

  • Jogbani–Erode–Jogbani (16602/16601)

  • Saharsa–Cheharta (Amritsar)–Saharsa (14627/14628)

Modern Features for Comfort and Safety

Amrit Bharat trains include upgraded features for safer and more comfortable travel, such as:

  • Semi-automatic couplers and EP-assisted brakes

  • Modular toilets and fire detection systems

  • Emergency talk-back systems

  • Redesigned seats, berths, and pantry cars

  • Continuous lighting, charging sockets with mobile holders

  • Strong pillars, partitions, gangways, and external emergency lights

These enhancements aim to provide passengers with a world-class travel experience at an affordable price.
